LAST ROSE is violinist Ruth Palmer's music and arts quest to raise awareness of the endangered Sinai Wild Rose, or Rosa arabica, and of the scientific and local Bedouin guardians who have successfully championed it as it faces climate change peril. In her performances in UK libraries Ruth plays Ernst's The Last Rose of Summer, and explains how the values of inclusivity and sharing knowledge held the key to the plant's survival in the Sinai Desert. She highlights how the same values are flourishing in UK libraries. Further afield, a LAST ROSE tour and film are in development.
